About Pablo Luis González Burgos
Pablo Luis González Burgos has spent more than two decades advising international capital in the Dominican Republic. His career began at the Dominican tax authority, followed by roles as District Attorney for the east side of Santo Domingo and Legal Director of the State’s Aqueduct Corporation, where he negotiated bilateral agreements with the Canadian government, the World Bank, and other international development institutions.
For more than a decade, Pablo has served as outside counsel to the largest private residential developer in the Dominican Republic and to a family of private equity funds connected to some of the most recognizable names in institutional investing. He has advised on transactions touching approximately sixty thousand residential units across the country, a $180M hotel acquisition in Punta Cana, and an active $800M hospitality development with European co-investors. Pablo is Vice President and 50% shareholder of a leading private Dominican fiduciary corporation, Vice President of the Board of the Public Fiduciary Corporation of the Dominican State, and a founder-member of the Dominican Association of Fiduciaries.

Questions we hear most often
Answers to the questions we hear most often from private equity associates, general counsel, and fund directors evaluating Dominican Republic counsel.
What kinds of matters do you take on?
The firm accepts engagements in four practice areas: corporate structuring and M&A, real estate and hospitality transactions, private equity counsel on Dominican market entry and platform deals, and fiduciary and trust structuring. The firm does not practice personal injury, family law, tourist resort matters, or criminal defense.
Why a boutique over a large Dominican firm?
Larger Dominican firms typically assign a partner to pitch the relationship and an associate to execute the matter. González Burgos & Asoc. operates differently. Pablo Luis González Burgos leads every engagement personally, supported by a dedicated team. When clients require in-person attendance at a meeting outside the Dominican Republic, Pablo travels.
How quickly can I get in front of Pablo?
Initial calls are typically scheduled within one business week of the inquiry. If the matter does not fall within the firm's practice, the firm will communicate that on the initial call and, where appropriate, refer the matter to suitable counsel.
Will my firm be named publicly as a client?
No. Existing private equity clients are confidential by default, and that standard is extended to new engagements. References are provided only after a first call, and only with the referenced client's written consent.
The firm offers an exploratory call to discuss potential engagements. The initial call is not billed, and no attorney-client relationship is formed until a written engagement agreement is executed.
